Meet That Mama in Charge

(Yes, It’s Me. No, I’m Not Okay)

Welcome. I think. As you will quickly learn, at the moment this blog is anonymous. And for very good reason, which you will also soon learn. I’m sharing it all and it’s a mess. Everything from my love life, my physical and mental health and perhaps most disastrous of all, my finances.

I started this blog in hopes that I can share my journey of crawling out from the weight of financial despair with someone who needs to see it happen. I will be the first to admit, that I am by no means in the worst scenario possible, but I am also not here to compare. This change I’m embarking on, to better my life all around, is emotionally driven and I know that there are plenty of other moms out there who are feeling the same as me. So whether you deem your situation to be better or worse, just know, emotionally if you relate, we’re the same kind.

I am very hopeful this blog will become a place of community where other moms can find connection and relate to my struggles to know that you’re not alone. In a world where more and more everything is about what we can obtain physically, what we can possess, I think many of us have lost our way. Consumerism has led us to buy more, feel less, trust that it’ll be fine, everyone’s doing it right?

For me, I’ve tried to keep things status quo for my kids since I separated from my husband about 4 years ago. In doing so, I haven’t really paid close attention to the mess I was getting myself into. But I’m paying attention now… and it’s scary as hell trying to figure out how I’ll get out of this, while still feeling human. It’s going to take work, sacrifice and probably a lot of frustration and tears.

My commitment to you, my readers, is that I’ll be transparent as possible and hopefully with my small wins, inspire you to take back areas of your own life that aren’t up to the standards you desire.

While I am highly motivated by my financial goals, I am also looking forward to getting my mental, physical and spiritual health back on track as well. I hope to share all the things I’m doing to improve my life and provide honest feed back on what’s working and what isn’t.

If you’ve read this far… That means I was right… there’s too many of us mom’s out there that are living in a state of constant stress and frustration. If there’s one thing I’ve realized its that I am responsible for my life, no one is coming to save me. You can save yourself too.

I am That Mama in Charge.

Let the adventure begin.

XOXO
